Imagine coming to your first prenatal appointment greeted with soft, warm smiles. You feel like a queen because in our eyes, you are! Every concern you have is listened to and answered. We hand you a beautiful Pregnancy and Birth Bag with informational material to help you prepare for the months ahead, along with a few extras to help with your comfort.

At each visit, special care and attention is given to see that your wonderful body and baby are in harmony, enabling you to have a stress free experience during your journey. In preparation for your loving birth, all your supplies and birth tub are sent directly to you

You're now in the privacy of your own home. Calming music is playing in the background. Aromas you love, that help empower your female senses, fill the room that's filtered with warm sunlight or muted in the soft glow of candlelight. In addition you may choose to have a professional photographer(optional) at your birth. These photos are then tenderly and artistically arranged to produce a precious keepsake for you and your baby to remember this day forever(DVD or video).

You are given a Postpartum Care Kit to help you get started with diapers, information, and breast-feeding support. You have nothing to worry about. You are free to enjoy bonding with your newborn. When you call with questions or return for your postpartum visits, you will receive answers and solutions. We are here for you!

There are many studies that show home births, with a well trained midwife, have as good or better outcomes as hospital deliveries for low-risk pregnancies. The latest CPM 2000 project confirms that home birth is safe!

BirthRite Women's Center believes in having the least amount of intervention possible while still adequately monitoring your pregnancy and birth experience. Birth is a natural process that does not require interference most of the time. The midwives are there to recognize when intervention is necessary, while still leaving you in control of the experience.

Rate $20.00 per hour. Minimum 12 hour contract. Milage fee if you live 20 miles outside of Lindon, Utah.

Because we believe in the Parents Right to Choose, we also believe in a woman's right to have a hospital birth. However, many women are not empowered through their hospital experience, which is why we believe every woman birthing in a hospital setting should have a doula! A doula will work as an advocate to you and your partner, and support you through the whole birth process. A doula offers hands on support, emotional support, and education to help you make the most informed decisions so that you feel good about your birth outcome. When you choose a doula through BirthRite Women's Center, you are choosing a highly trained professional who can work with your care provider in providing the best possible outcome. Our doula service includes 2 prenatal visits, assistance in writing a birth plan, support through labor and birth, breastfeeding support, and postpartum follow up.

Insurance and Payment information:

BirthRite Women's Center does bill insurance companies, and some insurance companies will pay for home birth. However, those that do not often have large deductibles that are close to the cost of the home birth package anyway. For those with no insurance coverage and / or coverage that does not cover home birth we offer payment plans.

We take checks, Cash, Visa, and Mastercard.

We require 25% down by 20 weeks of pregnancy, or when care is initiated if care begins after that time, and the rest is due by 36 weeks of pregnancy. You may develop a payment plan to suit your needs within those parameters. For those that have insurance, all deductibles must be paid by 36 weeks. If it is unlikely from our experience that your insurance will cover home birth, we require full payment by 36 weeks. If your insurance does pay for any portion of your care we will refund you the balance after they have paid. Any portion not covered by insurance must be paid in full within 30 days of notification by the insurance company. Also, we can only bill for the Basic Birth Package because we cannot bill for services other then prenatal and birth care. So you will be responsible for payment of the additional amount of the deluxe and premium packages. BirthRite Women's Center can not bill insurance for Doula services at this time.

If you choose to pay in full by 20 weeks gestation or when you initiate care you may receive a 5% discount on your package.

Who are we?

Tara Tulley is a Certified Professional Midwife and holds a Bachelor's Degree from the Midwives College of Utah. Tara is dedicated to providing the safest possible care, while offering a loving, gentle environment. She believes strongly in parents rights to choose their birth place and care provider. Tara has also been an instructor for the American Red Cross, and currently holds certification in Neonatal Resuscitation, and CPR. Tara is a past president of the Utah Midwives Association(2005-2007) and is an advocate for preserving the art of midwifery. Tara has three children who were born at home and loves helping women have empowering births
